▎Product Overview
Brief Description: Tinplate is a low-carbon cold-rolled steel sheet coated on both sides with commercially pure tin by electroplating. It combines the strength and formability of steel with the corrosion resistance, solderability and premium appearance of tin—making it an essential material for metal packaging.
▎How it protects
The tin layer acts as a barrier and also provides electrochemical protection in certain packed-food environments (tin can dissolve slightly and protect the steel substrate). In normal atmosphere, the tin coating is stable and helps resist rust. When specified with food-contact lacquers, tinplate is safe and reliable for canned food applications.

FINISHES | ||
| Type | Main uses | Features |
| Bright | General-purpose food & general-line cans; premium decorative tins; aerosol components | Flow-melted tin with mirror-like gloss; best for high-fidelity graphics and shelf appeal. |
| Mate | Crown caps, ends, twist-off (lug) caps | Non-reflective finish; electrolytic tin not flow-melted on a matte substrate; strong lacquer/ink anchorage and barcode readability. |
| Sliver | Various applications incl. crown caps and stamped parts | Bright “silver-tone” finish obtained by flow-melted tin on specially conditioned base steel; uniform laydown for decoration. |
| Stone | General-use cans and heavily printed panels | Slightly matte, scratch-resistant surface; produced with flow-melted tin on a stone-finish substrate; reduces glare and scuffing during lithography and can-making. |
